Job Summary:
The Chelsea at West Orange is seeking an experienced Building Services Director to oversee the maintenance, housekeeping, and overall safety of our senior living community. This leadership role ensures our building and grounds are well-maintained, in compliance with safety standards, and provides a comfortable and clean environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry teams
- Oversee daily building inspections and prioritize maintenance requests
- Manage preventative maintenance, repairs, and renovation projects
- Coordinate vendor services and maintain supply inventory
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and fire codes
- Lead snow removal, emergency response, and fire drill protocols
- Participate in budget planning and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in building maintenance (healthcare setting a plus)
- Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair work
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and respond to emergencies (on-call schedule)
